So we split the catalog into four comparisons: laser engravers, accessories, engraving materials and fiber lasers for metal marking. The xTool S1 40W tops the main engraver ranking at 9.2 out of 10.
We have not engraved, cut or burned anything with these machines. The editorial rating summarizes public review data and listing specifications; it is neither a cutting measurement nor an Amazon customer score.

- The engraving area matters more than frame size, and product photos often confuse the two.
- Materials are their own purchase
- Sheet stock and tumblers are ranked separately; a marketplace tag does not prove a material is laser-safe.
