Fiber-only or dual laser. A fiber-only galvo marker is built for metal: marking, deep engraving and colour on stainless steel or titanium. A dual machine adds a diode source for wood and acrylic. Decide which share of your work is metal before comparing the fiber wattage.
Check the marking field. Galvo fiber machines mark inside a small square field, often 110 to 150 mm. Measure the largest metal part you will mark and check the stated field and any conveyor or rotary option on the exact listing.
Treat colour and cutting claims as claims. Colour marking on metal and thin-sheet cutting depend on the source, the lens and the settings. Read them as seller claims, run settings trials on scrap parts and keep the manufacturer safety instructions for the infrared beam.
